Wind is howling, rain is pelting, leaves and sticks hitting the windows, the storm windows rattle, the house shudders, the dog won't even go outside in this mess... and I'm really surprised the power is still on.
I thought we were to have a mild winter because of the wooley bear caterpillar. Yes, those fuzzy black and orange ones you see scooting across the road in the fall time. Tradition says that the larger the orange band, the milder the winter. Well, Mr. Bear, you lie. The leaves have not yet turned here on good ole Cape Cod and yet Mother Nature sends us this nasty Nor'easter! 18" of snow at my friend's house in Connecticut! It's October and just the other day it was a balmy 65 degrees. Could this strange weather pattern be due to the warmings of the globe? Who knows...Or perhaps I got it wrong ~ the larger the orange band, the more brutal this winter will be? That sounds about right.
